SOSU STEEL BAND



This new performing ensemble is currently in the formative stages. We are working diligently to have this group up and running during the 2002-2003 school year. Stay tuned for the latest developments!!!


For starters, we plan on having at least:
  • 2 Lead Pans
  • 1 Set Of Double Seconds
  • 1 Set Of Triple Cellos
  • 1 Set Of Six Basses
  • 1 Drumset
  • 1 or more Percussionists


We will not only perform traditional Caribbean calypsos but also current popular music and selections from the Classical repertoire. The present plan is to have the group perform on SOSU concerts as well as taking the group on tours and playing for private events in the regional area.
