The Symphonic Choir, under the direction of Stacy Weger, serves as the performance medium for major choral/orchestral works for the music area. Students from both the Women’s Chorus and the Southeastern Chorale join forces with community and university members to form this choir. Instrumental students from Southeastern unite with Dallas area musicians to meet orchestral needs of the ensemble.

Major works previously performed with this choir include Fauré Requiem, Mozart’s Missa in C, "Credo-messe" KV 257, Clausen’s A New Creation, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna, and Vaughan Williams; Hodie among others.   Southeastern voice faculty often serves as soloists for these works, with students receiving performance opportunities as well.

This group is the featured performer at Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Candlelighting Christmas concert. Candlelighting is the oldest tradition on campus. This past fall the choir performed Handel's Messiah for the annual Candlelighting concert. Michael Miles served as conductor for that event.

While serious choral literature is always performed by this choir, the Women’s Chorus also includes lighter and more current music on its programs. A campus concert is presented each semester and other appearances are scheduled in the Durant area. Occasionally, short trips may be scheduled. The chorus is open to all female singers on the Southeastern campus. Membership ranges from 35 to 60 singers.
