Enrollment Management and Marketing

Kyle Stafford is proud to be an alumnus of SOSU. He has a passion for the university and wants others he meets to see this about the university he is so honored to be associated with. In talking with Kyle, you will learn how SOSU has helped him and many others become successful professionals. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters of Education in School Administration. Kyle’s desire to help others inspired him to be an educator, but instead, he chose to help promote the university to other young adults. Kyle’s family would tell you he bleeds blue and gold. His cheering section at home includes his wife Kim, and daughters Miranda and Emma. “There are so many success stories associated with Southeastern Oklahoma State University,” Kyle said. “To play a role in helping students succeed is very rewarding for me.”

Honors

Dr. Lisa Coleman is the Director of the Southeastern Honors Program and Associate Professor of English in the Department of English, Humanities, and Languages. She and student members of the Advisory Council and the Honors Program are active in honors at the regional and national levels. With interests in rhetoric, composition, psychoanalysis, gender studies, critical theory, and the phenomenon postmodernism, she has published essays in Keywords in Composition Studies, a review article in the journal Composition Studies, and, most recently, an essay on Stephen Toulmin, in Twentieth Century Rhetorics and Rhetoricians. Work in progress includes an article entitled, “Postmodern Rhetorical Situations,” an article linking rhetorics, poetics, aesthetics and subjectivity, and a book-length project that rereads the writing of Virginia Woolf for rhetorical theory and composition pedagogy. With a B.A in French, and an M.A. and PhD in Humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Coleman sees that the development of reading, writing, and language abilities may be the primary means through which students may develop a global perspective that will prepare them for graduate study and life-long habits of learning.
