Student Activities Coordinator - Office of Student Life

The Office of Student Life at Southeastern Oklahoma State University is a department that oversees the following areas: Greek Life, student organizations, advisement, student leadership, campus programming board, multicultural programming, spirit squad and all other student initiatives. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Students.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide support for the 70 + organizations by advising and assisting student organizations in leadership development and event planning, policy interpretation, fiscal accountability and citizen development; provide day-to-day advising for student leadership and faculty advisors, attend meetings of their organizations, and supervise activities; serve as the primary advisor for the Inter-fraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and Student Programming Board and maintain current marketing plans and materials for activities and programs; assist in over-seeing campus-wide, programming for events such as Welcome Week, Parent’s Day and Homecoming; coordinate Fall Preview New Student Orientation and train orientation leaders; oversee the Spirit Squad program and supervise the coach; evening and weekend work required.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master Degree preferred. Experience in program development and implementation and public speaking to large groups; experience with budget management. Ability to relate to students and to work in collaboration with various representatives from university departments and the community. Ability to multi-task, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, use of computers to accomplish goals and develop marketing strategies. Knowledge of risk management, experiential learning and assessment techniques.
