School Concurrent Admission Requirements
You are considered a high school
concurrent student if you...
- are still in high school and want
to take SOSU classes.
Then to be admitted, you must...
- have participated in the ACT or SAT.
- have at least an ACT composite of
20 or SAT of 940 as a senior (12th grader)
or have at least an ACT composite of
23 as a junior (11th grader).
OR
- have a GPA of 3.0 from a
state-accredited high school AND rank in
the upper 50% of your class as a senior
(12th grader). Juniors (11th
graders) are required to have a 3.5 GPA.
- have a written recommendation from
your high school counselor and a written
permission from your parent(s). Click

Also, you must meet the following
requirements to take SOSU classes in
particular core subjects. If you
don't meet these requirements, you may
still enroll in SOSU courses, just not
ones in which you are deficient.
- an ACT English of 19 or an SAT Verbal
of 460 to take English related courses
- an ACT Math of 19 or an SAT Math
of 460 to take Math related courses
- an ACT Reading of 19 or an SAT Verbal
of 460 to take any other collegiate
course (outside the subjects of English,
math and science)
- an ACT Science of 19 to take Lab
