Message from the Dean of Graduate and University Studies

Welcome to the web site for Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s School of Graduate and University Studies. Our mission in the School of Graduate and University Studies is to provide an environment of academic excellence that enables students to be nationally competitive in their chosen fields. Knowingly then, Southeastern is committed to offering quality graduate programs which preserve, extend, and disseminate knowledge.

Currently the School of Graduate and University Studies enrolls approximately 500 graduate students in five master’s degrees covering five areas with 19 different options available in the three academic schools. Students are attracted to Southeastern’s graduate programs for several reason including our small size, talented faculty, a close student-professor relationship, and the reasonable cost of graduate education, however, the best reason is that a graduate degree from Southeastern stresses an education that you can put to work in your career.

The School of Graduate and University Studies also oversees the general education program at Southeastern. All undergraduate students must complete this program of study designed to develop communication, critical thinking, and quantitative reasoning skills, as well as add breadth of understanding in areas such as the humanities and fine arts, and social, behavioral, and natural sciences.
