SCHOLARSHIPS
Five types of scholarships are offered throughout the Southeastern Honors Program. Students receiving these scholarships undergo a selection process during the Honors Day Competition on Saturday, February 09, 2008
ACADEMIC SCHOLARS (BY NOMINATION):
A small number of awards will be made based on the overall qualifications of a student, and one of the following: minimum ACT composite of 30 (or SAT equivalent) OR minimum GPA of 3.8 and high school class ranking in the top 4% OR minimum GPA of 4.0 and first in class ranking.
Students receive Honors Program acceptance, tuition waiver estimated at $3,249/year, and $2,000/year for educational expenses (fees, books, and room and board if you live on campus), with an annual value of $5,249 and a total value of $20,996.
Scholarship is renewable for a 4 year period*, provided students maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA and meet full-time enrollment requirements (12 hrs./semester).
ACADEMIC SCHOLARS:
Awards will be offered to students who score at or above the 99.5 percentile on the ACT OR to students selected to be Presidential Scholars by the U.S. Department of Education OR to National Merit Scholars or National Merit Finalists. (In some cases Oklahoma residency requirements may apply.)
Students receive Honors Program acceptance, tuition waiver estimated at $3,249/year, and $4,000/year for educational expenses (fees, books, and room and board if you live on campus), with an annual value of $7,249 and a total value of $28,996.
Scholarship is renewable for a 4 year period*, provided students maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA and meet full-time enrollment requirements (12 hrs./semester).
OUT OF STATE SCHOLARS:
Required ACT composite of 25 (or SAT equivalent) or higher.
Students receive Honors Program acceptance, non-residential tuition expense waiver estimated at $5,794.50/year, $1,500/year toward in state portion of tuition, and $1,500/year room scholarship (if you live on campus), with an annual value of $8,794.50 and a total value of $35,178.
Scholarship is renewable for a 4 year period*, provided students maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA and meet full-time enrollment requirements (12 hrs./semester).
PARSONS SCHOLARS:
Required ACT Composite of 25 (or SAT equivalent) or higher and Oklahoma residency.
Students receive Honors Program acceptance, full tuition & fee waiver estimated at $3,925.50/year, a book allowance of $450/year, $1,730/year toward room (if you live on campus), and $2,390/year toward board at Southeastern, with an annual value of $8,495.50 and a total value of $33,982.
Scholarship is renewable for a 4 year period*, provided students maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA and meet full-time enrollment requirements (15 hrs./semester).
PRESIDENTIAL HONORS SCHOLARS:
Required ACT composite of 25 (or SAT equivalent) or higher and Oklahoma residency.
Students receive Honors Program acceptance and tuition waiver up to $1,600/year, with an annual value of $1,600 and a total value of $6,400.
Scholarship is renewable for a 4 year period*, provided students maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA and meet full-time enrollment requirements (12 hrs./semester).
REGIONAL UNIVERSITY SCHOLARS:
Required ACT composite of 30 (or SAT equivalent) or higher and Oklahoma residency.
Students receive Honors Program acceptance, tuition waiver estimated at $3,249/year, and $3,000/year for educational expenses (fees, books, and room and board if you live on campus), with an annual value of $6,249 and a total value of $24,996.
Scholarship is renewable for a 4 year period*, provided students maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA and meet full-time enrollment requirements (12 hrs./semester).
* Students are also expected to maintain membership in good standing in the Honors Program by completing the yearly required Honors Program curriculum (see Honors Course list) and service. Renewal will be determined on August 1 of each year
† All Actual Amounts are determined in conjunction with a student's federal aid package.
‡ The cash portions of said scholarships are paid by the state Regents after the last add/drop day for each semester.
