Call for Manuscripts

JBE invites manuscripts for publication review. Manuscripts are blind-reviewed by at least three reviewers. JBE publishes manuscripts that make significant contributions to theory, knowledge, and practice in the areas of small business and entrepreneurship.  JBE is published at least twice a year.

General Guidelines

• Preferred method of submission is by e-mail attachment in Microsoft Word (.doc) format to jbe@se.edu.
• JBE also accepts submissions by postal mail. For mail submissions, send four hard copies or an electronic copy on an IBM formatted 3.5" disk or CD to JBE, 1405 N. 4th Ave PMB 2670, Durant, OK 74701-0609.
• Authors submitting to JBE should download and sign the Copyright License Agreement to indicate that the manuscript is the original, unpublished work of the author(s). The signed agreement may be returned by fax, postal mail, or e-mail as a PDF attachment.
• Manuscript submissions should be double spaced, including quotations and references, with all margins set to 1”.
• The order of manuscript pages should be as follows: Title page (separate page, number 1), Abstract (separate page, number 2), Text (separate page, number 3), References (start on separate page), Appendixes (start on separate page), Author’s Note (start on separate page), Tables (start each on a separate page), Figure captions (list together, starting on separate page), Figures (place each on a separate page).
• Clearly mark the position of tables and figures in the body of the paper.
• Manuscripts MUST be in American Psychological Association (APA) format and should not exceed 30 typewritten pages, including tables, figures, references, and Author’s Note.
• No running head is required.
• The manuscript’s title (in bold upper case), author(s), and affiliation(s) should appear on the first page only.
• An abstract of NOT MORE than 120 words should appear on the second page.
• The author's name(s) should not be mentioned in the manuscript except in appropriate citations and references.
• Pagination should be continuous throughout.
• Each manuscript should be checked for spelling, grammar, APA style, and inclusion and agreement of all citations and references.
• Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, author(s) must provide a camera-ready electronic copy in Microsoft Word format with all tables and figures placed appropriately in the paper.  The revised manuscript may be submitted by e-mail attachment, CD, or 3.5” disk.
