An
Article Index
Article indexes
(also called periodical
indexes) include the citations
of articles in magazines, journals and newspapers.
Article indexes were originally published in paper.
Now many are online.
Some article
indexes contain abstracts or brief summaries of the articles. Many online article indexes now
contain the full text or entire content of whole articles as
they originally appeared in the periodical.

Online article
indexes, purchased by the SE Library are accessible from
the library Web site. The library also owns print indexes, good
for researching older materials. For example, the Readers Guide
print index goes back to 1915!
