She came to Southeastern as an assistant professor of History in 1985 and was tenured in 1989. She has taught a wide range of history courses since she has been here, such as American History, Early World Civilizations, England to 1689, Ancient Near East, Medieval History, Early Modern Europe, Europe 1815 to 1870, Russia to 1815, Social Studies in the Elementary School, Methods and Media in Secondary Social Studies. She has received awards for excellence in teaching and has written several publications.
She says that she decided to donate her books to the Southeastern Library because "I needed to find a home for my most appreciated items. The books had to go naturally to the SE Library, since they needed someone to look after them who would value them like I did. In addition, I thought the students who are interested in History, Languages, old Textbooks, the Classics and especially Music could learn from them. Finally, it is a little bit from me that remains at Southeastern when I am gone."
