Job Description
Title:
Idabel Math Tutor-Hourly (Approx. 10 hours per week) (Federal Funds Only)
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate students.
- An overall GPA of 2.5 or 3.0 during the previous semester course work with a minimum of 3.0 GPA in the subject area to be tutored.
- Must exhibit an aptitude, interest and ability to deal effectively with disadvantaged students. Similar backgrounds to disadvantaged students is preferred.
- Tutors must be able to assist with mathematical concepts up to and including Brief Calculus.
Reports to:
Student Support Services Counselor I at Idabel Campus
Job Goal:
To provide tutoring services through the use of available materials, resources, academic knowledge, and personal abilities that will enable the student to successfully meet the requirements of a specific math course.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Tutors program participants.
- Maintains regular contact with instructors and submits periodic progress reports based on class performance and instructor recommendations.
- Documents each contact involving services to program participants.
- Provides all appropriate records for documentation.
- Participates in training sessions when deemed necessary by staff.
