Dr. Ed Mauzey Named Dean of School of Education & Behavioral Sciences

Dr. Edward Mauzey has been named Dean of the School of Education & Behavioral Sciences at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He has served as Interim Dean since Jan. 1, 2005.
An associate professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences, Dr. Mauzey was named Director of Teacher Education at Southeastern in July 2003.
“During his time as Interim Dean, Dr. Mauzey has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in moving forward the vision and goals of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences,” said Southeastern president Dr. Glen D. Johnson. “We are delighted that he has accepted this appointment as Dean. The School of Education and Behavioral Sciences has been one of the cornerstones of our academic institution since we were founded in 1909. We look forward to a bright future under the direction of Dr. Mauzey.”
“Dr. Mauzey has certainly proven that he is deserving of this appointment,” said Dr. Jesse Snowden, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “His contributions will certainly complement the first-class reputation that has been achieved by the School of Education & Behavioral Sciences.”
Dr. Mauzey earned a bachelor’s degree from Ambassador College, Pasadena, California, a master’s at the University of San Francisco, and his doctorate at Texas A&M–Commerce. He joined the Southeastern faculty in 2000.
“The faculty and staff of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences have a rich tradition of service and I thank President Johnson for this opportunity to serve as dean,” Dr. Mauzey said. “I am happy to be here at Southeastern during these dynamic times and look forward to the challenges ahead.”
