ONEOK Foundation Presents $100,000 Pledge To Southeastern Student Union
Press Release Date: 10-03-2005
The ONEOK Foundation, Inc. has made a pledge of $100,000 payable over four years to the new Student Union at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. In honor of this gift, the Student Development area of the Student Union will be named the Oklahoma Natural Gas Centennial Leadership Center. Oklahoma Natural Gas is a division of ONEOK.
Southeastern President Dr. Glen D. Johnson made this announcement during the University’s Homecoming Alumni Awards Luncheon on Saturday, October 1. Representing Oklahoma Natural Gas at the luncheon was Durant–area manager James Savage.
“The Oklahoma Natural Gas Centennial Leadership Center will certainly enhance our new student union,’’ President Johnson said. “We appreciate this generous gift very much and congratulate Oklahoma Natural Gas on its upcoming centennial in 2006.’’
Included in the Oklahoma Natural Gas Leadership Center will be framed documents and photographs of Oklahoma Natural Gas’ history; the mission of the company (providing natural gas services to the people of Oklahoma); and the company’s core values: loyalty, ethics, quality, service, and value.)
Oklahoma Natural Gas will also provide representatives to work with the Student Union architects to design the display.
“Oklahoma Natural is excited to be involved with Southeastern in this project,” said Phyllis Worley, president of Oklahoma Natural Gas.
“As a company, we view education as a vital ingredient in a community’s growth and one of the best ways to strengthen the communities we serve.”
ONEOK, Inc. is a Tulsa–based company whose diversified energy operations stretch across the mid–continent region of the country. One of ONEOK’s three utility divisions, Oklahoma Natural Gas meets the natural gas needs of approximately 800,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Oklahoma.
The new Student Union will be the focal point of student services, student government activities, and University life. The new $14.3 million structure is scheduled to be completed in 2006 and is a major component of the overall $53 million of campus capital improvements at Southeastern over the next 3–5 years.
