Billie Letts to Hold Book Signing Friday at SOSU

Oklahoma native and former Southeastern Oklahoma State University English Professor Billie Letts will help celebrate Homecoming 2006 with a book signing. Letts will also be honored Saturday as one of the three Distinguished Alumni for 2006.
Letts will be on campus from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, for the reading, question and answer session and book signing. The event will be held in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
Her books include “Where The Heart Is,” The Honk and Holler Opening Soon,” and “Shoot the Moon.” She has also written four screenplays, including the recently filmed “Veritas, Prince of Truth.” and numerous short stories.
Although she is now published in 14 countries with more than 3,000,000 copies sold worldwide, Letts didn’t start writing her first novel until age 54.
“Where The Heart Is” was number one on the prestigious New York Times paperback best-seller list and selected for Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club in December 2000. It was also made into a movie by 20th Century Fox.
