Southeastern Announces “Centennial Committee”

Southeastern Oklahoma State University will celebrate its centennial in 2009 and preparations for this historic event are now under way.
“The centennial gives us an opportunity to reflect upon the many accomplishments we have achieved at Southeastern in our first 100 years,” said Southeastern President Dr. Glen D. Johnson. “It also provides a unique forum to begin charting the course for our next 100 years. We look forward to celebrating this historic milestone.”
The Centennial Committee will meet three to four times a year to direct and review the work of six sub-committees, which include Fundraising, Service, Historical Preservation, Events and Celebrations, Publicity and Media Production, and Mailing, Outreach and Communication.
It is anticipated that three or four major events and one or more Centennial Memorial Projects will be planned to commemorate the first century of Southeastern’s service to the State of Oklahoma and to prepare the University to continue its journey into the 21st century.
