SOSU Music Professors to Attend Artist Series in United Kingdom
Southeastern Oklahoma State University music professors Dr. James and Betty Wintle will attend the Weymouth International Artist Series in the United Kingdom next week.
Dr. Wintle’s work, “Concert Etude” for trombone and piano, will be performed by Tony Baker and Dr. Steven Harlos of the University of North Texas College of Music faculty. Harlos will also perform selections from Wintle’s “Preludes in Diverse Styles.”
Betty Wintle will appear on the program as guest artist, performing vocal duet selections with series host Sophia Grech, noted British mezzo soprano.
The Wintles will travel to Italy in May for a presentation of Dr. Wintle’s work at the “Citta di Racconigi” international chamber music festival. Wintle’s “Four Miniatures for Piano Four-Hands” will be performed this month at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, Poland.
