SOSU enrollment shows 3.4% increase

Press Release Date: 09-14-2007

Preliminary reports indicate that the Fall 2007 enrollment at Southeastern Oklahoma State University has increased 3.4% over last fall.

A total of 4,002 students are currently enrolled at SOSU, compared to 3,872 in Fall 2006.

“We are certainly encouraged to see this growth,” said SOSU Interim President Jesse Snowden. “Our freshman class is among the largest we’ve ever had at the University.”

Snowden said that quality academic programs, recruiting, student advisement and counseling, and new and improved facilities such as the new student union and residence hall are among the variables contributing to the enrollment increase.

Classes began on Aug. 20.
