Dr. Jeff Hale announces resignation at SOSU

Dr. Jeff Hale announced today that he is resigning his position as Vice President of Enrollment Management & Marketing & Intercollegiate Athletics at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
“My family and I are very grateful to the people of Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Durant,” Hale said. For the past seven-plus years, we have had the privilege and the good fortune to meet amazing people, take part in an exciting rebirth of the City and University, and establish close friendships that will last a lifetime. The Hale family truly has been blessed.”
Hale assumed the VP position in July 2005. Prior to that, he served as interim athletic director for one year. Hale joined Southeastern in 2000 as Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management-Marketing. He maintained those duties while serving as interim athletic director.
He currently serves as chair of the Durant Community Facilities Authority, the group that oversees the facilities improvements that were approved by Durant voters on May 11, 2004. As the senior officer in charge of Enrollment Management and Marketing, Hale oversees a division with 7 directors and more than 70 full-time and student staff.
Since joining Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Hale has led the initiative to open The Academic Advising and Outreach Center, which is designed to provide centralized academic advising for all newly admitted students. Additionally, he initiated the Freshmen Programs office that develops and delivers the programs and services targeted for first-time freshmen.
Dr. Jesse Snowden, Interim President at Southeastern, said the University has benefited greatly from Dr. Hale’s contributions.
“Dr. Hale has played a key role in a number of areas as the University has moved forward over the past few years,” Snowden said. “His enthusiasm and energy in promoting Southeastern as a leading academic institution as well as a frontrunner in athletics is unmatched. Although we will miss him greatly at Southeastern, we certainly wish Dr. Hale and his family the very best.”
Hale is married to Donna Staples Hale, currently an adjunct instructor at Southeastern in the Department of Biological Sciences. They have two children, son Elijah, and daughter Emma.
