Presidential Finalists to Meet With Campus Community on Friday

The two finalists for the position of President of Southeastern Oklahoma State University will visit the SOSU campus this Friday to visit with faculty, staff, students and community members.

The two finalists are Dr. Thomas L. Krepel, currently the Assistant to the President at Northern Illinois University, and Dr. Robert A. Vartabedian, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Eastern New Mexico University.

Dr. Krepel will meet with campus and community members from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in Montgomery Auditorium on the SOSU campus. Dr. Vartabedian will then meet with the group from noon to 12:50 p.m. in Montgomery Auditorium. These meetings will provide an opportunity for faculty, staff, students and community members to ask questions of the two finalists.

Reserved parking for the general public will be available north of the SOSU Fine Arts Building and west of the old Thompson’s Bookstore.

During their visits, the finalists will also tour the SOSU campus.

The Regional University System of Oklahoma (RUSO) regents will interview the finalists again on Saturday, April 14, and they may make a decision at that time.

Dr. Glen D. Johnson, who served as Southeastern president for the past 9 ½ years, assumed his new duties as the Chancellor of the Oklahoma State System for Higher Education on Jan. 17. Dr. Jesse Snowden is currently serving as Interim President at Southeastern.
