Southeastern Financial Aid Director Receives State Award

DURANT, Okla. ­ Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Sherry Hudson has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Oklahoma Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

Hudson is director of financial aid at the University.

The award is intended to recognize a practicing student financial aid professional at an institution. He/she should have contributed unique and long-lasting efforts to the association, the profession, or to the cause of financial aid in Oklahoma.

Hudson earned bachelor's (1975) and master's (1982) business degrees at Southeastern and is in her third decade in the financial aid office.

She has served as president of the state association and of the 5-state regional association.

"It was truly an honor to receive this award," Hudson said. "I love what I do, helping students get an education. I wouldn't still be doing it after 32 years if I didn't love it."
