The New Southeastern Student Union
The new Student Union will be the center of campus life and student services for the next 50 years. We need your help to finish the project. Th is is an extraordinary moment in Southeastern’s history, and you can participate by buying at least one SQUARE FOOT of Southeastern’s future for $250. The completion of this new keystone structure depends on you and your support.
Located in the northeast corner of the University loop, between the bookstore and the Choctaw/Chickasaw Tower residence halls, the new Student Union Building rests in the heart of the campus. It will be the first building open in the morning and the last building to close in the evening. The Student Union Building is three stories tall, has 58,049 square feet, and will house the new student dining facilities, lounges and conference rooms, wellness and recreation areas, the student government offices, and many other areas that will serve the student population. The funding sources to date include:
- State Bond/Master Lease Program
- (Paid through Student fees)—$9.7 million
- University Funds—$2.0 million
- Private Funding—$2.8 million
