Ed Mauzey — Director of Teacher Education
The Director of Teacher Education, Dr. Ed Mauzey, oversees the entire Teacher Education Unit across all academic departments. The Unit includes fourteen programs. The Director also chairs the Teacher Education Council which is the governing body for the Unit. The Teacher Education Program at Southeastern Oklahoma State University is based on the belief that a teacher should be trained as a Manager of Learning. A Manager of Learning is able to effectively plan and deliver instruction while motivating and assessing students. The Director of Teacher Education and the Director of Teacher Education Services work together to support the Teacher Education Program at Southeastern.
Cheryl Jackson — Director of Education Services & Chief Certification Officer
Cheryl Jackson is the Director of Education Services and Chief Certification Officer. The function of the Office of Teacher Education Services (TES) is to serve teacher candidates at the undergraduate and graduate levels in obtaining teaching credentials. The Office of Teacher Education facilitates the teacher candidate with admission to teacher education, preservice observations, student teaching admission and placement, Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators, Certification, and the Resident Teacher Program.
