Kappa Delta Pi
Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society for teacher education majors. Members are selected from sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduates who plan to be teachers and are outstanding in scholarship. There are over 200 chapters in the United States, and a chapter is found in most of the leading colleges and universities.
Membership is by invitation only. The general requirement is that you should possess high moral qualities and be a credit to our university in addition to being a high performer academically. Specifically, you must meet the following requirements.
Requirements for Undergraduate Students
- Has made the decision to be a teacher.
- Has a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or better.
- Has completed 50 semester hours of college credit.
- Exemplifies worthy educational ideals.
Requirements for Graduate Students
- Full graduate standing at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
- Overall GPA of 3.25 or higher for all graduate course work completed.
- Exemplifies worthy educational ideals.
- Intention of continuing in the field of education.
- Completion of six (6) or more semester hours of graduate work at Southeaster.
Beta Delta Chapter holds initiations in March, July, and October.
