Web Standards and Accessibility

The Department of Web Services has undertaken initiatives to comply with current laws and regulations regarding information accessibility.

Processes in place and under development will allow information published to SOSU web sites to be analyzed for possible accessibility issues.

The Department of Web Services has found that developing web sites using web standards helps achieve the level of accessibility required by law.

Web developers must be aware of many issues regarding the process of development, publication, and maintenence information to the university web site and server. The university must strive to comply with laws and regulations regarding accessible information technology.

The Department of Web Services believes that information should be made accessible to all persons. We will continue to improve our understanding of accessibility issues in order to provide universal access to information at SOSU.
